Truthear has incorporated a New Generation DLP 3D printing technology and medical-grade resin shells in their line-up of in-ear monitors. Truthear has collaborated with HeyGears, a company founded in the year 2015. HeyGears is an innovative company that provides digital manufacturing solutions across various industries. Truthear created a revolution when they released their first-ever in-ear monitor, the ZERO. Audiophiles thought about Truthear as one of the upcoming companies of the future. Building on its reputation, Truthear is proud to introduce its hybrid driver in-ear monitor - the HEXA. The Truthear HEXA is crafted using high-quality material. It adopts the polyurethane suspension composite liquid crystal dome diaphragm and dual-cavity internal magnetic circuit dynamic driver of N52 magnet. Its hybrid driver configuration promises to deliver spectacular sonic performance. Get the decibels delivered to your ears perfectly with the all-new HEXA!

Truthear has designed the HEXA with an efficient driver configuration. The Truthear HEXA hosts one dynamic driver + three balanced armature drivers hybrid structure. The original intention of the design is to achieve a reasonable and efficient configuration. The Truthear HEXA strives to bring you a full-range and accurate representation. A 10mm specialised dynamic driver is responsible for bass. The mature internal magnetic circuit has a flexible polyurethane suspension material and an LCP liquid crystal dome diaphragm, which is the same concept as Truthear ZERO. A unique weighted voice coil reduces natural Resonance Frequency and moderately increases the impedance. This design architecture allows the HEXA to reproduce the punchiest bass and meet the needs of accurate distribution. A composite full-frequency balanced armature driver is responsible for the mids, which matches the frequency band of the specialised dynamic driver. The high-frequency band also conforms to the HRTF characteristics closely. A custom-balanced armature driver, similar to the WBFK series, is responsible for the highs, which allows HEXA to reproduce a smooth, clean high-frequency performance through fine processing. Experience the magic of hybrid drivers and immerse yourself in pure sonic bliss!

The Truthear has incorporated an accurate hybrid frequency division technology in the HEXA. High-precision DLP-3D printing technology allows the acoustic waveguide structure with filtering functionality. The RC frequency division achieves an "accurate" frequency response making the four drivers perform well under different corresponding acoustic waveguides. The Truthear HEXA has appropriate bass gain and high-frequency amplitude response covering HRTF characteristics. Although the bass gain is less than that of ZERO through the specialised dynamic driver, HEXA offers a more robust bass response, and the transition between bass and mids is more natural. The highs of HEXA are very detailed, delivering a different hearing experience with different eartips. It provides a clearer and more natural sound with silicone eartips, while with foam eartips, some high-frequency resonance peaks are suppressed, delivering a smoother and warm presentation.

The Truthear HEXA has an elegant minimalistic design that is eye-catching. The DLP 3D printed cavity from HeyGears is equipped with its medical-grade high-transparency resin, internal colouring, and delicate surface grinding process. It can realise complex acoustic waveguide structures while ensuring printing accuracy and efficiency. It also brings a lightweight cavity to fit well in the contour of your ears and has skin-friendly and reliable cavity materials. A brand new reliable HEXA offers a square but smooth ID design, which can compress the cavity volume as much as possible on the premise of ensuring the wearing reliability to make sure that it can have a lighter weight. The CNC anodizing sandblasting metal faceplate reduces the auricle touch to release the pain caused by long-term wearing. Moreover, the aluminium alloy faceplate is locked by screw self-tapping and fixed by glue, worry-free about accidental falling. Truthear has also given special attention to the cable design. The Truthear HEXA comes with a copper-silver-plated cable with a thicker diameter of the single strand, presenting an excellent objective index. The four strands of high-quality silver plating combined with the universal 0.78 2Pin interfaces achieve excellent sound quality and expand the possibilities by changing the cable.

Regions of the frequency spectrum

SUB BASS
(20Hz - 80 Hz)

The first section of the frequency spectrum is the sub-bass. Everything below 80Hz is sub-bass, so generally, you need a subwoofer or a good pair of headphones (open-back headphones, for example) to hear this region. This region comprises instruments like the Kick Drum and the Bass Guitar. You should be able to hear Sub-Bass if you’re listening on monitors or headphones. But if you’re listening on a laptop or a phone, there’s no way you will hear that.

MID BASS
(80 Hz - 300 kHz)

After the Sub-Bass region, we get into the region known as the Bass or Mid-Bass. This region consists of everything between 80 and 300 hertz. In this area, we’ve got instruments like bass guitar and the low end of a snare. Lots of the low-end vocals as well, because male vocals are going to have the fundamental below 200Hz in most cases.

LOWER MIDRANGE
(300 Hz - 1000 kHz)

Next, if you go from 300 Hz up to 1000 kHz, this is known as the Lower Midrange, and this is a crucial region for music because this is where you get a lot of buildup with guitars, vocals, and even the top-end of the bass guitar especially. Lower Midrange is an area guilty of adding mud to a mix and clarity in this region lifts a track exponentially.

UPPER MIDRANGE
(1 kHz - 6 kHz)

Human hearing focuses inherently on this frequency range. So it’s crucial to get this range right. This region consists of the main focus of the track (e.g. vocals) and synths. Be aware that this is also where you can start to get into harshness and aggressive tones.

TREBLE
(6 kHz - 10 kHz)

After the Upper Midrange, we’ve got the Treble region between 6kHz and 8 kHz, and this is where things start to get harsh. This region is where we have brittleness from instruments like the Hi-Hats and Cymbals. This is also a crucial range for clarity and aggression, especially for female vocals.

AIR
(10 kHz - 20 kHz)

At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything above 10 kHz. This is where we have air and this is where we get a sense of shine and sparkle in our music.

Amazing iem at a great price

The truthear hexa are really worth the hype. The bass is textured, balanced and forward mids, with vocal presence with slightly rolled off higher treble, without any sibilance...an amazing pair of iems with a amazing choice of tips in the package and a pair of foam tips. I just love these and I think are a pair of must have iems for every audiophile.

Worth it

I have given my review of these IEMs on the page for a fresh piece. Here I am leaving a review for the unboxed experience.
I received the original box which was in good shape. The box holding the paperwork inside was slightly crushed, but I didn't mind. The items and accessories were packed with care. I have nothing but praise for the service I received from Headphone Zone.
However, I the foam eartips that were included in the box were damaged, and are not forming a seal on one side. Considering that these items undergo inspection before packing, I feel a fresh pair of foam eartips could have been included. Just because I needed a pair of foam eartips and was left wanting, I have deducted a star.
I would still recommend unboxed products from Headphone Zone as I feel they care about the satisfaction of their customers.
