Most smartphones come with an in-built DAC & Amp that either sound terrible or are simply not capable of playing high resolution music. The Headphone Zone X ddHiFi Hi-Res DAC Pro is a simple plug-and-play device that transforms any smartphone into a high resolution audio player, bypassing the in-built DAC & Amp. But this isn’t any ordinary DAC & Amp. This is a Fully Balanced 4.4mm DAC & Amp that allows you to pair with any Headphone featuring a 4.4mm balanced cable - uplifting your audio to the next level. For smartphones with a USB C output, the device works straight out of the box. For iPhones with a lightning port, a Type-C to lightning adaptor would be needed, like the Hidizs LT-03. For most beginner audiophiles starting out their journey, this is now the easiest way for you to start listening to resolution music, but specifically with a 4.4mm balanced audio output.

Balanced Cables Need a Balanced DAC & Amp
And Every Good IEM Deserves A Balanced Setup
What difference can a Balanced Cable and a Balanced DAC & Amp make to the sound of your IEMs? Well, it's hard to make a general statement. But here are something's you should know.
Using a Balanced DAC & Amp means using 2 amplifiers doing the job of one. So each channel, Left and Right gets it's own amplifier. So the first thing you should notice, is your IEMs get double the amount of power. What's more, the use of Balanced cables also lower the noise floor on any headphone, and therefore improves the dynamic range, helping you hear softer details on any track. They also notably eliminates cross-talk between the left and right channel, something that can make subtle improvements to the soundstage.
Different Headphones and IEMs respond slightly differently to upgrading the chain to balanced DAC & Amp and balanced cables. But as a general rule of thumb, you should hear a more controlled sound, sharper responses, tighter bass, and a wider soundstage.
