Bit Depth:

TOPPING has risen to the ultimate levels of Hi-Fidelity audio with the MX5. The engineers are not playing around when they say "Multi-Function." TOPPING has put two amplifiers into this one unit: an NFCA headphone amplifier that outputs on the front plate and a Merus Class-D power amplifier that outputs on the back. The MX5 has an NFCA circuit optimised for this unit with ultra-low noise and distortion. It pairs with high-sensitivity IEMs and power-hungry high-impedance headphones perfectly. With the help of an Infineon Merus Class D amplifier, the MX5 can output 70W x2 under a 4Ω load with 10% distortion, and 55W x2 under a 4Ω load with 1% distortion. Under an 8Ω load, the MX5 can output 42W x2 with 10% distortion or 35W x2 with 1% distortion. You won't have an issue driving your speakers, studio monitors or high-end tower speakers with the Merus Class D amplifier at your service.

AUTO ON/OFF FUNCTIONALITY WITH BUILT-IN EQ AND 2-STEP GAIN SETTING

All inputs on the MX5 include an Auto On/Off functionality. The unit turns on when a valid signal is detected. When a legitimate signal is lost, the machine shuts down (goes into standby mode) after a certain amount of time has passed. MX5 provides three sensitivity choices for analogue signals with varying intensities to ensure that the audio signal is recognised. Digital signal detection is enabled, and analogue signal detection is disabled by default. When the digital input signal is invalid, the automated shutdown wait time is one minute. The shutdown wait time is set to 10 minutes. The MX5 provides adjustable treble and bass functionality from -10dB to +10dB to suit your preference. The power and headphone amplifiers on the MX5 have two-step gain adjustments to respond to input sources of varying strengths which can also be adjusted via remote control.

MEMORY SETTINGS COUPLED WITH JITTER-FREE INPUTS, SELECTABLE OUTPUT MODES, AND REMOTE CONTROL PROVIDE TROUBLE-FREE CONNECTIVITY AND CONTROL

C1 and C2 are two custom memory settings on the MX5. Long-press either button to store the current input, output, volume, bass, treble, and gain settings. To recall the saved settings, press and hold the button for a few seconds. The MX5 is embedded with USB, optical fibre, coaxial, and Bluetooth, enabling a wide range of connectivity and compatibility options. With four digital and two analogue inputs, the MX5 may connect to a wide range of audio sources, including PCs, set-top boxes, CD players, mobile phones, and tablets. In addition to digital inputs, the MX5 also has analogue inputs that are fully balanced TRS, single-ended RCA and a 6.35mm female port on the front baffle. The volume of the MX5 can be controlled using the volume knob or the remote, and it can be shown in percentage or decibels.

Powerhouse in a small package

Disclaimer: I do not consider myself as an Audiophile.
I got this unit to declutter my desktop. I wanted a all in one solution.
The headphone amp part was just perfect for me , I used to hear terms like 'Non fatiguing' , 'easy on ears' etc. Now I can safely say this one is easy on my ears and Non fatiguing.(I use a LCD X)
The speaker amp section is also amazing, I run my KEF350s without any problem at 50% Volume. I compared this amp with a Denon entry level amp , I couldn't make out the difference.

Good feature-rich amplifier

I liked the amplifier but experienced a few issues with the volume when connected to OPTICAL, BLUETOOTH and RCA. After being advised to do a firmware update something went wrong and so I am waiting to return it.
