Tangzu X DIVINUS - FuDu Verse 1

Why does this have no rating on this platform or anywhere else?

For background: the other gear I own are HD650, Akg K361, Sundara, ie 300, ie 200 and have also tried zero red and some final IEMs.

But these.. these are going to be the ones I pick almost always (second to my 650) for leisure listening and just purely enjoying music. In my book, isn't that what this hobby is about?

So coming back to the sound of these. These are not going to blow your brains out with intricate details. Nor is this a basshead iem. What this is an extremely smooth, warm, lush, balanced sound with amazing sense of space, while somehow maintaining an analog type realistic tone and timbre throughout the frequencies. Especially vocals. If that's for you, I strongly suggest to pick these up instead of anything in this price bracket.

I expected the Fudus to be good after returning Zero 2, but did not expect the experience to be indescribable in words. Still, I will try my best. Read the review, if you feel lost in the Chi-Fi sea trying to find that nearly perfect AND enjoyable groovy IEM.

Dan's Audio Reviews has this pair in his Hall of fame besides Tin T3+, MEST and Monarch MKIII, and raves about it for a correct reason. It is true that it is not a technical IEM like every other IEM around, and this makes Fudu even more special and odd in the market. Fudus are fun. Warm, not basshead bassy but good crisp bass that rumbles your ears like good Pioneer/Kenwood car speakers. That is the experience you get when you use these. Your technical "sparkly" IEMs just will not be fun, and the fact is mastered songs in studios are never targeted towards $3000 Grados, but crappy car speakers and muddy overbass $7 earphones. This is why T3+, Wan'er, HBB Khan, Blon BL03 get so much praise. Having crisp bass and treble (not muddy) with the correct amount of warmth and subbass is key to enjoyable audio gear, I think.

Now that I have my technical thoughts out of the way, let me tell you about the songs/bands I heard. Foreign – Imagine Dragons, Skillet, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Bloodhound Gang, ABBA, Bee Gees, deadmau5 and more. Hindi – 80s and 90s pop, some qawwali/Sufi and Bollywood music. Japanese – anime and video game OSTs and tracks, maybe some Jpop. Fudu is beyond versatile. Making that range of genres enjoyable with no treble fatigue or bass headache is an accomplishment.

There is a minor lack of air and sparkle at times, but the tradeoff for safe and crisp treble, and the balance, I think is worth it. There are very few expensive sets that sound as or little bit clearer than this.

I will just conclude by saying that Fudus explain why chasing technical spec is less important than tonality. Audio gear is not like computers or smartphones, a message most hobbyist audio reviewers send to people looking for audio gear, but it also allows to embark people on their audio journey.

I decided on the Tangzu FuDus based on listening to demos on Dan's Audio Reviews YT channel and he was spot on. The FuDus have a very warm sound signature that can handle any genre of music gracefully, while also giving you decent amount of definition vis-a-vis soundstage and seperation. It is definitely not a technical IEM but a musical one where the bass stands out (Jazz, EDM, House, Cellos, etc.) at the same time very clean. You can listen to long hours without any fatigue and the IEMs are well made, very comfortable to wear and extremely light on the ears and fits snuggly. Only thing is that the cable is a little annoying and tangles easily, while also not looping around my ears properly. Tangzu have done a good job with the packaging and presentation of the FuDus and they come along with nice pair of ears tips that are expensive in itself if bought seperately. Also, thanks to HPZ for giving a good deal on these (which makes the price to performance ratio even more amazing) compared to other websites, but my only gripe is that these came with a 3.5 mm termination plug whereas 4.4 mm option is offered by other sellers and I bought them here at HPZ thinking these where 4.4 mm. I don't know if HPZ could help me out here, but otherwise a good buy all in all.

Bought there based on the YouTube recommendations and they turn out great. The sound is non fatiguing. Better than some hyped sets in this range.

Fudu Verse is an extremely well-balanced IEM with a warm, open, and airy sound.

Being a basshead this was a perfect choice for me. Its like a sleeping dragon woke up to the dungeon of your ears exploring until it is filled with its flame lighting up the dark and destroying the sleeping bats at the same time.
A genius way to pay off your respect to the great poet Mr.Fudu.
