Brilliant effort from HPZ in making this available on launch day and at cheaper price compared to price in other countries.
The unit has a very premium feel but at the same time not sure how well it will age.
Fit is the best among the iems I have tried ex: S12, Kiwi Quartet, Final VR2000, Monarch mk3, U12T.
Soundwise pretty good. Not a neutral tuning but V shaped.
The cable is pretty average. Bundled DAC dongle adds to the VFM quotient.

Meze has truly outdone themselves with the Alba. Generally, I haven't been a fan of the typical Meze house sound. While their collection is undeniably well-designed, I often find their audio quality ranges from mediocre to decent—too laid-back for my taste, as I prefer snappier IEMs. However, with the Alba, Meze has hit a home run in both design and sound quality!
The tuning on the Alba is exceptional. Although the sub-bass is a bit lacking, it more than makes up for it with lush mids and outstanding treble. Acoustic guitars come alive on these IEMs like never before; even the superior and pricier IE600 can't bring out the full potential of an acoustic guitar as the Alba can.
At the INR 10K mark, I strongly believe the Alba is a blind buy.

The Meze Alba is a great audiophile starter kit. On-board DACs in mobile phones were not great in the first place (when phones used to come with 3.5mm jacks) and now most mobiles do not even come with one. So for people not familiar with dongle DACs, which is most people I'd imagine, Bluetooth earphones/headsets were the only means for enjoying music on their mobiles. This is a shame as these people never even got a taste of what lossless music sounds like; who knows how many of them would've embarked on a journey of audiophilia had they been able to experience it at least once. The Meze Alba is a great step in this direction. One might argue about USB-c IEMs being there - but those lack the advantages of the Alba - being able to separate out the DAC and the earphone, being able to replace cables etc. The IEMs in themselves are great - I paired them with my Mojo2 and was treated to a phenomenal combination of bass thump and detail retrieval - a rare combination, with most IEMs in this price segment leaning towards one or the other. The DAC was no slouch either - though I must say I enjoyed it more with iOS than Android (maybe something to do with how USB Audio Player Pro handles DACs). So from overall sound quality and value perspective - my rating would've been a 4 - on account of the DAC not being the class leading - but when I consider the total package and the cost - it gets a 5 hands down. Great job Meze! And hats off to HPZ - don't know how you managed to pull this off - but making it available for purchase on launch day is simply mind blowing!

If you dont factor and throw away the bundled (free) DAC/AMP this IEM beats other IEMs at a similar price point hands down. The bundled DAC/Amp seems like an afterthought and not much testing has been done with the IEM and DAC/Amp as a pair. In my mind the strategy was probably to bundle the DAC/Amp till stocks last to increase and sweeten the value proposition for the average (low cost) IEM consumer and capture the market. Why I say this is because this comes as a seperate package and not bundled into the the IEM box. For people who already dont own a DAC/Amp this maybe a good move. Now the review of just the IEM - these are not typical Meze sound and quite a departure from the warm signature of their other IEM and headphones. The treble is very crisp bordering on being bright on certain songs and on certain sources and the Mids are well balanced but the Bass lacks depth and punch and needs a lot of help (sources with Bass Boost). Using a balanced cable helps the sound a bit over the included single ended cable, and I wish there was an option for interchangeable terminations or the option to get single ended/balanced termination on ordering. The IEMs are in the same housing as the Advar's and are beautiful, light, and super comfortable to wear. They are finished in pearl white with a certain level of glow that bounces light in such a fashion that in different colour light they look different. To conclude you need to have a good source to love these. Fortunately for me I have a few that I could try and its a solid buy for anyone with a lower budget starting out in the IEM space. I would have given them 4.5 stars on their own and 4 stars with the included DAC/Amp, which in my mind is just a gimmick.
