Sounds way bigger than it looks. Could be an endgame IEM

Ignoring the unfortunate brand name, the Performer 5 sounds a lot bigger than it looks. My friend described the sound like having a pair of headphones on. Pair it with a nice DAC like the Fiio KA5 and this sounds out of this world. Truly mesmerizing sound.

Comparing this to the other IEMs that I own (Timeless, Chu, Hexa, QKZxHBB, Aria) this definitely blows all of them out of the water. Timeless and Hexa used to be my favorites but the Performer 5 sounds much better and livelier than both of them. The bass quantity and quality is far superior and the overall sound, although maybe not as detailed as the Timeless, does sound a heck of a lot more pleasing and natual even with bass and treble heavy electronic music. It's kinda like a mini Sundara in terms of bass quality and quantity. Also, comfort wise, this is one of the most comfortable IEMs I've tried so far.

I wish it were cheaper though. For the price, what you get in terms of accessories is pretty minimal. You get a plastic case with a rubber gasket and lots of silicone tips in every size you may want. No interchangeable plugs (3.5mm or 2.5mm), no foam tips, no waifu (thank god!).

The IEM with the standard tips is quite comfortable and surprisingly very good at noise isolation. It's probably the best noise isolating IEM I've tried. If you're tried active noise cancellation on a Sony WF-1000XM4, this is like 70-75% of the way there without any ANC circuitry. A couple of my friends tried it as well and even without any music playing, they could hardly hear me. With music playing, even at low volume (~40% with the KA5 on the 4.4mm out) you can't really hear your surroundings at all. Even in a noisy metro, it's extremely usable at low volumes, so that's a huge plus for me but something to watch out for if you plan to walk around in traffic with these on.

These didn't really pair quite as well with the Fiio UTWS5 as I'd hoped but that's because the UTWS5 can't drive it to justice. Crank it up to 70% volume with the UTWS5 and maybe you get around 90% of the sound you get with the KA5. It's also strangely uncomfortable when used with the UTWS5.

I tried it with the Shanling UP4, A&K XB10, Fiio Q11 over 3.5mm termination using a TRN cable and they sounded great at 50% volume. I also tried it on VE Avani and VE Abigail dongle DACs and both could drive it well around 50% volume but didn't sound as good as the KA5.

Pros:
1. Amazing overall sound signature (pleasing and musical)
2. Outstanding bass (quantity + quality)
3. Very comfortable
4. Very good sound isolation with supplied silicone tips
5. Mesmerizing shell design
6. Silicone eartips in every size
7. Great stock cable with 4.4mm termination
8. No waifu! (depending on who you ask)

Cons:
1. Unfortunate brand name
2. No interchangeable jacks (4.4mm only)
3. No foam eartips
4. Pricey at 19K (~12-14K would have been a much sweeter deal)
5. Plastic case is not bad but not great either
6. Comes with a manual that suggests 'burning them in' for 100 hours
7. No waifu! (depending on who you ask)

Well Balanced

Coming from the CCA CRA, SoundMAGIC E10C, and PowerBeats Pro, this IEM delivers a remarkably balanced sound. Compared to my budget-friendly IEMs and the PowerBeats Pro(costs around 25k):

1. The sub-bass is impressive.
2. The treble extension is exceptional, making cymbals sound distinctly different—a significant improvement.
3. It’s incredibly comfortable. (Using SpinFit W1 Eartips)
4. The sound quality remains excellent even at low volumes. (Paired with Fiio KA13 with 4.4mm balanced cable)

Awesome IEM

Bass, Treble and Mid Range are clearly audible. Background voices are also audible. You are transferred to a different zone when u put the AFUL IEM on your ears.
