I'm not going to go into all the positives of this headset because if you're considering spending this much on them, you know what they're capable of. These are the ultimate solution to comfortable noise cancellation, paired with an absolute chameleon of a headphone. Sony lets you equalise them so beautifully that you can make them sound like anything you want, and the tech inside is capable of meeting your wildest expectations. Your ears will give up before these cans.
I have a few areas of criticism though. Firstly, I was using the Plantronics Backbeat pro 2 and even though this is quite an upgrade, I miss the smart sensors and even the switches instead of press and hold buttons. Secondly, you'll want to switch off Bluetooth to make calls, that mic just doesn't cut it. And lastly, I fail to understand why Sony did not include multipoint Bluetooth on these. It's just ridiculous that headphones costing 5k can have them, but you can drop 30k and still have to switch devices like a caveman.
Great sound across genres. Has fuller audio, compared to this BOSE falls absolutely flat. Good soundstage for a NC headphone. Also Sony solved the comfort issue with this. The silver/gold colour looks dope.
Yes its expensive,. But you are not getting just another headphone for the money.you literally feel like getting a companion that makes your routine daily activities much more enjoyable thanks to the awesome noise cancelling nd great sound quality.
PROS:1)looks and feels premium, you'll be proud to go out with it,it looks modern esp the matte black.
2)noise cancelling should not be overlooked as a small feature, it can provide you with an escape route from the fuss nd stress.now these hav the best in class noise cancelling nd it
really makes a difference.
3)sound quality: i'm just an average music listener, nd for me these headphones hav made me fall back in love with my older songs bcoz i was hearing a lot more than i used...the soundstage is pretty wide nd bright, it does lean towards the base which is great for me.at higher volumes it really gives u a surround sound theatre like feel.
4)software updates mean these can keep getting better in sime ways, just got support for alexa, multiple languages etc..already comes with google assistant, really useful.
5)there are tiny touches that sony has added to enhance the user experience nd they all add up as big positives like ambient noise control.
Cons:
1)call quality is avg,but usable.
2)it could take some time getting used to wearing it if ur coming from using in ears like me.
3)ears do get sweaty in warm climate after some time.overall comfort could improve.
Verdict: if music is a part of your day nd if u can afford it without going broke, then dont overthink it.just buy it, its worth it.
Make sure u r listening with ldac nd dsee hx enabled.
The headphones were delivered to me on time and the services provided by www.headphonezone.com are unmatched.
Coming to the product review I would like to say that they are the best sounding headphones available in the market with noise cancellation.
The headphones do make your ears sweaty and hot as the Indian summers are unforgiving but when used in controlled environment they are perfect.
The earpads are comfortable and soft.
Build quality of the headphones is sturdy and looks premium.
Only concern regarding these headphones is related to the earpads replacement once they wear out with time, as the OEM replacement earpads are not sold by Sony India and neither I was able to find any quality alternate available online.
Hence I would like www.headphonezone.com to look take notice of the fact and provide after sales support for this expensive product as they do for others.
I bought this item a week ago. It was promptly delivered and I give credit to Headphonezone for that. I have been burning the headpone and in the process of burning it, I have been listening to a whole variety of songs and instrumental. I am extemely pleased with the Headphone. Before I purchased the item, I had purchased XM 2 from Amazon. Even though XM 2 was also a very good headphone, I was not entirely satisfied with the comfort level so I decided to return the item after a week of burning it and then decided to get this one. So far, I can say that the headphone upgrades from its predecessor are very subtle (in the sense that it is not easy to tell merely by examining the physical look) but at the same time very significant. The comfort level has greatly improved. I have tried a number of Bose QC II (often known as the most comfortable), however, I really dont see any significant difference in the comfort category from that of Bose QC II. The headphone feels less delicate and stonger than its predecessor. The sound leak of this headphone is very minimal even in very high volume as compared to the XM 2, which is another great imporovement. The NC quality is also extremely good. I will not say it blocks out all of the ambient noise (even passively) but, the reduction is significant.
The sound is as good as any top headphone. I have been using the DT 770 and I am not disappointed with the sound quality of this headpone at all when compared to the DT 770. I strongly recommend this headphone for those interested in getting the best ANC Blutooth headphone in the market at present.
