How does One (Gen 2) use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)?

BLE can be used to temporarily communicate with your phone/tablet to simplify the first-time setup process. It does not support audio streaming.

Can I stream using Bluetooth?

This speaker does not have Bluetooth connectivity but streams audio content over your WiFi network. Internet access allows you to stream higher fidelity audio over greater distances, group or pair Sonos speakers and more.

The Sonos One (Gen 2) features two Class-D digital amplifiers tuned to match the speaker drivers and acoustic architecture to deliver lifelike audio. The compact speaker combines the woofer and tweeter into one component to ensure rich sound with an accurate high-frequency response, faithful playback of mid-range vocal frequencies and deep bass. With Sonos, you can create a wireless multi-room audio system with straightforward controls and easy functionality. Pair two speakers in the same room for stereo separation and more detailed sound.

The Sonos One (Gen 2) offers easy functionality with wireless connectivity that allows you to connect to your home Wi-Fi network with any 802.11b/g, 2.4GHz broadcast-capable router for uninterrupted wireless streaming. You can access the convenient top panel that uses capacitive touch controls for volume, changing tracks, playing/pause and muting the microphone. The LED indicates the status, mute status, and voice feedback. One (Gen 2) also features four far-field microphones that provide advanced beamforming and echo cancellation.

Sonos One Gen 2 can be accessed with a dedicated Sonos app that extends the feature set of the speaker. The Sonos app works with 80 streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Amazon Music and YouTube Music to make listening to music as simple as possible. This app is compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows devices. Sonos One Gen 2 also comes with support for AirPlay, allowing you to stream directly from your Apple devices. This makes operating the One Gen 2 a breeze.

Fantastic convenience, excellent sound

I've been trying to get my wife a no frills home system without her having to mess with wires, switches and settings. Finally Sonos One comes to the rescue. Sonos one

My first purchase in the Sonos ecosystem. Hopefully it would be the first of many. It was either Bose or Sonos, chose Sonos after scrolling through tons of reviews. Sound quality is superb though haven't gone full blast as houses close by. Adding another Sonos one and a sub would then literally boom in the neighbourhood. One slight disappointment though is I am still unable to tune my speaker with Trueplay. Pindrop silence is a must for Trueplay tuning. Seems like a an impossible task
