Moreover, the use of patented feed-forward error correction topology reduces colouration and distortion so that you get to experience pure, natural sound. The combination of THX-certified THXAAA-888 circuit, Bipolar linear amplifier circuit with patented feed-forward error correction topology eliminates all kinds of distortion and harmonic intermodulation.

Made out of precise CNC milled Aluminium Alloy, the body of the SMSL SH-9 sports an anodized and chamfered finish that not only adds to the charm but also makes the SH-9 durable. With high precision resistors, the SH-9 takes care of the temperature. You also get a high-quality 256 Bit high precision and low noise 256 level relay volume control with the SMSL SH-9. With S.M.S.L Patented 24W low noise high-efficiency power backup, the SH-9 delivers superb power-efficient performance.
NOTE: In a real case scenario, extra bits are not eliminated to provide more linear volume.

With THD ≤0.00006 and SNR >137dB, the SMSL SH-9 ensures noise/distortion-free sound for the best possible music listening. This incredible Amp comes with a function knob, display, RCA input, balanced stereo line input and an IR receiver and also supports 6.35mm output and a balanced RCA input and a 3-Pin XLR balanced output. It can produce power of up 6 Watts into 16 Ohm, 3 Watts into 32 Ohm Headphones and comes with 2 positions with switchable gain control. The thermal protection on the Amp protects DC, over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit.

I didn't have much confusion to buy sh-9 due to the following 3 reasons
1. I had SMSL SU-8 V2
I own SMSL SU-8 V2 dac for my stereo setup, which was connected through RCA to my stereo amp, SH-9 has XLR input so no hassles of connecting & disconnecting the cable for stereo and headphone setup
2. Remote
I needed remote. That's it! I think this is the amp with remote in that price segment. I have a 3m stock cable of my HD650 which is very convenient to listen to, from my easy chair with the handy remote to control both SU-8 & SH-9(Yes! one remote for both the devices). I can't think of sitting straight in my desktop setup & increasing or decreasing the volume for each song by hand manually (if it is a non remote version amp). I believe that the inconvenience in our physical posture while listening will lead to less listening time even though the sound quality is good. Paying this huge money on headphone setup & if we are not listening frequently then the price paid is not utilized to it's full efficiency. So I think the comfort while listening is of prime importance
3. The Sound Quality
I have a portable amp - ifi hip dac & then this desktop amp - sh-9. So I cannot give the comparison with other amps. But I like the sh-9 more than the portable hip dac which is obvious for the price. And also going with the online reviews, sh-9 has good reviews except for the more output power when compared to topping a30 pro, a90 & modius (a90 is double the price & modius is unavailable in india - as far as I know these are the competitors for sh-9 in this price range)
Now, My experience after buying it -
It was an easy setup since I had already bought an xlr pair for around 700Rs before sh-9 arrival. I just connected it with my su-8 and played hi res songs for my sennheiser HD650. That's it! I was playing one song after another. It was a great experience. The sound is crystal clear and enjoyable.
I was hesitant to spend 25k for an headphone amp for nearly a month. I was skeptical whether this is worth it. But after listening it I don't regret my purchase at all.
