But just like a sculptor needs the right tools, achieving audio nirvana with a DAC depends on two key factors: sampling rate and bit depth.


Sampling Rate:

Imagine your favourite song as a complex rollercoaster track. The sampling rate refers to how often the DAC takes measurements of this digital track, measured in kHz (kilohertz) or thousands of times per second. A higher sampling rate, like 96 kHz, is like taking a ton of pictures of the track, capturing every twist and turn with incredible detail. Lower rates, like the standard 44.1 kHz used in CDs, are like taking snapshots at a theme park – fun, but you might miss some of the subtler details that make the ride truly exhilarating.


Bit Depth:

Now, think about the sculptor's tools. Bit depth refers to the precision of each measurement the DAC takes. Imagine the number of colours available to the sculptor. Very natural & accurate sounding DAC

This is one of the rare DACs with natural / organic sound, accurate sounding with all the details / nuances without any harshness or sibilance. I would consider this as the best DAC under 50K at the moment in the market.

You cannot turn off the music!

Wow! What a DAC! I went with this DAC over SMSL SU-9U, SU-9U Pro, Topping E70 Velvet, E70. Of course, there was no way to listen to it before buying, so most of the reading was online, looking up YouTube, and help from Ian Pereira of HFZ.

I was looking for a DAC with the right amount of detail + warmth at the same time. Pairing it with a Rega Brio and Wharfedale Lintons, and boy I am truly impressed.

I listen to all kinds of songs, from Blues, Country, Pop, Jazz, 70s and 80s rock, some of the new stuff too! Close your eyes, and you can feel the artist/band in your room! It is that good!

It just makes you want to listen to the music - on and on. I am sure this is to do with the implementation of the flagship RoHM BD34301EKV chipset. If you like to listen to music - and looking for a very good DAC at this budget and beyond, buy it!

If you are looking just for impact from the first few notes of a song and impress your friends, maybe something else!

The chassis, some say (online) is a bit flimsy, but I find it fair enough - to keep the prices down. This DAC is a keeper!
