FEATURES DUAL CLASS-D AMPLIFICATION CHIPS FROM INFINEON FOR SUPERIOR SONIC PERFORMANCE
SMSL AO200 features two independent MA12070 high-performance Class-D power amp chips from the German brand Infineon. They offer high-quality audio signal amplification offering up to 92% improved efficiency over the former models. It also reduces power consumption and has low power requirements. The Class-D amplifiers amplify the signal with lower distortion ratings maintaining the true and pure signal transmission. The MA12070 adopts a new power amplifier architecture, MERUS, which is different from the traditional class D power amplifier. In this design, each half-bridge uses four MOSFETs (M1-M4) and the capacitor "flying" between them as an additional power supply. These are railed to generate a three-level output signal at the output switch node. In addition, to improve sound quality, a lot of high-quality professional audio components are also used!
EMBEDDED WITH NJRC NJW1194 JAPANESE VOLUME CONTROL CHIP FOR PRECISE VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
SMSL AO200 provides precise volume adjustment thanks to the Japanese NJRC NJW1194 volume control chip. It is a digital volume control that allows you to adjust volume precisely. In addition, the AO200 has a built-in high-quality power supply specially designed for audio. It also has a perfect protection circuit for overheating and overcurrent, keeping the AO200 cool even if used for extended hours.
PHENOMENAL WIRELESS TRANSMISSION WITH BLUETOOTH 5.0 SUPPORT AND EQ SETTINGS
SMSL AO200 features wireless signal input with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. It offers an impressive wireless connection with a stable, lag-free connection with the source device. Now you can use your smartphone and listen to your favourite music on your HiFi speaker system. SMSL has featured its patented SDB sound and eq adjustment on the AO200. You can adjust the output using multiple SDB presets with an option; to individually adjust the bass and treble response in the output signal. By default, the AO200 arrives in direct mode, and of course, this is the stock tonality of the amplifier. In addition to that, there is the SDB option, Tone, Bass, Super Bass, Rock, Soft, and Clear. These EQ settings help you to adjust the presets according to your listening preferences.
DOUBLES-UP AS A USB DAC WITH SEAMLESS COMPATIBILITY WITH FLASH DRIVES
The USB port on the AO200 has two functions; either it can act as a flash drive or a USB port for your computer. The caveat is that the USB port will only allow MP3 files to be played when it is used with a flash drive. It will also just play the files on an infinite loop, and there aren’t options for the next track, pause, or previous track. The 2nd functionality of the USB port is to input from a computer or phone. The connection can be obtained with the supplied USB A to USB A cable. The USB connection is seamless; your source will detect the AO200 without requiring additional drivers to be installed on your source device.

The rear of the device has input options, including the typical RCA (Single-ended) and XLR (Balanced) analogue inputs, Bluetooth, and a USB flash drive or computer port that can be connected directly. On the far right of the panel, there is an IEC power inlet used to power the AO200. It also has a subwoofer output, allowing you to set up a 2.1-ch system at home.
DESIGNED TO IMPRESS WITH AN ALUMINUM ALLOY CHASSIS, LCD DISPLAY, AND A FUNCTIONAL REMOTE
The whole chassis of the AO200 is made of CNC-machined aluminium. Being made of aluminium, it can also act as a heat sink, which will be more than adequate for the amplifier's typically cool class D operation. The volume knob is located directly in the centre of the amplifier's front fascia. A vibrant LCD screen on the front fascia's right side displays information about the amplifier status and aids in the menu navigation. The supplied remote control also comes in handy when you want to control the various settings from the comfort of your couch. Four strong rubber feet underneath the AO200 keep it firmly in place. This design aspect is a nice feature since it would stop the AO200 from being pulled by heavier cables when connected.
