I have the matte steel version and it looks awing. I have loved the Moondrop sound profile and Kato just takes it a step further and perfects all the details for me magically. Sometimes I feel like the Kato has a larger sound staging and accuracy than a DT 770 Pro (if you know anything about headphones you should know that's saying a lot). Whatever headphones or IEMs you may own, Kato gives you a unique experience and takes you to a different place when combined with HiFi audio. Definitely please give it a try if you have some extra money in your pocket. Even if you don't have extra, this definitely can be your endgame IEMs, as you'll feel comfortable in it regardless of what genre you're listening to, unless of course your ears physically has a shape that doesn't suit these Katos. I've had some friends who say it doesn't physically fit very well to their ears as I gotta say, it has a weird shape for an IEM. So, watch out for that and good luck!

These are my first Audiophile Setup (KATO + KA13) and more I am listening to them , more am falling in love with them ...

On First touch, these seems little heavy but when plugged in ears they seems to disappear .. had little difficulty in plugging wires into IEM as plycard says L->L and R->R ..but no L/R marking on either IEM nor on wire so got a bit confused .. Ear tips are bit tight to fit in . but these are required for avoiding sound leak ..
Small con in terms of battery drainer on phone ..but this is price I am ready to pay to get good quality music ..

With this setup for the first time started appreciating Coke Studio & T-series Mix tapes songs as they have great vocals with lots of instrumental melodies ..

Paired with Apple Music Subscription to get Hi-Res/Lossless songs .. Match made in Haven ..

This is just a begining on my Audiophile journey ..and boy ..seems I picked the right gear to start with ..

These are the first IEMs that I have bought, but apar from these I do use a lot of other headphones and studio monitors for my purposes. Like I have a pair of Yamaha HS5 for my primary music production needs and pair of Beyerdynamic DT 700 PROX for music production as well. Then, I use a pair of Sony 1000XM3 and Airpods Pro for general purpose stuff like casual listening while travelling (planes, trains) and for my online meetings. For gaming I use a Razer BlackShark V2.

Now, when I compare the Moondrop KATO with others that I mentioned above. I honestly do love the tuning and the soundstage, the separation between the vocals and the music is pretty nice.

The tuning is natural. I don't feel any enhancement or downgrading of any side of the spectrum.

I have been using them with my iphone (with a lighting to 3.5mm connector) and Activo CT10. They sound great with both. I did left them to burn overnight on my laptop (may not have been necessary).

Overall I loved the earphones and again great service from Headphonezone.

Moondrop - KATO

I just got them 2 days ago. I like what am hearing. I like the balanced tone overall, nothing over the top or below par. The bass is just about right nothing boomy, its tight and to the point. The vocals are not high poking with any shrill, its perfect. The mids overall and mid bass blends well. All this without letting it break in then I can imagine how this should improve after hours of listening. Iam leaving it to play on the desk hooked up with a laptop, for it loosen up. Overall I like the service of HZ. Got a defective product the first time with the pins not going into the earpiece just raised a request and they promptly got it picked up with a store credit, I just had to order the product again and got it delivered Super Fast. Customer support is on point , polite, courteous. What more can you ask for. Thanks team and Kato is brilliant earpiece. Fyi I use this product with my mobile and its paired with Tanchjim DAC type c with 3.5mm jack dongle. Works like a charm together..

The Perfect IEM, I would say I am able to hear every instrumental details and sound staging is very good.

*Disclaimer: I listen to high quality audio files and prefer to Enjoy my music in an analytical manner trying to hear the nuances and background noises that usually one would ignore.

Now to Start with what I consider is my opinion on where the headphone shines,

1. Vocals: Simply put, You can feel real emotions in voices with this headphones. There have been some songs that I have heard for years together and yet when I heard on this, they took me back to the days when I used to hear audio casettes. There was air in the voices. You could feel the singer's voice have shivers when he was about to run out of breath and tremble when there was lyrics that were impactful.
2 Detail and sound stage: The music and Background were nicely seperated from the voice and you could feel the sound fill from front and back of your head. Side to side movement of sound could also be felt, but the same couldn't be said about the height positioning and imaging of the sound.
3. Music : The way it renders music is natural. Instruments sound more realistic. It is a good ear phone for Music from 60's to 90's, Jazz, Pop and rock. Though I have heard lot of mordern songs in EDM and Pyschedlic Trans, I don't find this earphones doing much on that form of music.
4. Sensitivity and Loudness: I use a BTR7 from FiiO for my mobile devices. Over LDAC BT, I need to often have to crank the volume up in my FiiO though I am still using Low Gain. However when I am using it on my PC with a in-built Sabre DAC, It just need me to have the audio around 15% to 25% at max. You dont need HiFi audio gear to run this earphones.
5. Accessories: A nice Carrying case. Good enough amount of Tips both Foam and silicone one.not much to complain.

Places where it can be better,
1. Comfot: Though they are extremely comfortable, I think you will feel them on your ears if you wear them for 3+ hours which is a common scenario for many.
2. Cable: A good cable but doesn't conform to the ear's shape quite the same way as the Shure's cables do. Yet I still prefer this cable as the quality feels better over and there is less cable noise.

Perfect upgrade over my KZ CRN in every aspect. Size is little small for me.
