Overall a non-fatiguing, ultra comfortable, dynamic sounding IEM that punches far far far above its price range. Guess Meze has a winner on their hands!
Advar's are when something cheaper makes you immediately regret buying something more expensive. These are insane and listening to these with the balanced cable made me immediately regret purchasing the Sennheiser IE900s (on full price, when launched). I am not technical nor do i plan to pretend to be these sound even better than the Empyrean IIs. These are incredibly clear and warm. I like them warm. Crisp highs and punchy bass. Very lightweight and a lot more comfortable than the IE900s. I just dont feel them, they are so light. One gripe the cables seem a little flimsy but time will tell to their durability. Listening to them on the Fiio R9, whose sound I actually didnt like too much and they shine, will try them on the Schiit stack (Magnius, Modius, and Lokius) shortly, I am sure they will sound even better on those. Headphone zone delivered in one day as usual, thanks.

Bought the Advar in February. Posting this review now in May. So have been using these for 3 months.
After using meze classics, had a presumption about the sound i will be hearing from these. But the iem surprised me , it's completely different from the 99 classics sound ( yes comparing a over head and an iem is not fair, but consider it as the Meze brand sound one can expect)
Its very neutral sounding iem. Comfort , cable quality is upto mark as expected from this price range. Build is beautiful, which has to be seen and felt in person.
Have to tell more about the sound. First be sure what type of sound you like, accordingly the source to be chosen as these can provide any sound as per ur preference. I had couple of trial and error before settling donw with a comfortable set up for me .
1) ifi audio go blu -- in my limited experience i would say these are best companion for advar. Ie match, xbass and xspace makes these iem sound heavenly. Warm and smooth sound , with amole detailes and wide soundstage. Very musical instead of analysing . That matched my sound preference. Unfortunately i had issues with my ifi and had to return it .
2) Astel&Kern HB1 - wanted a bt portable option for this iem. This IEM - dac completely changed the sound - very neutral with little bit emphasis on treble. The sound became very analytical, very wide and very detailed
( seperation between instruments) . The treble is not overpowering, it is comfortable for long session hearing, but we will notice it here and there spiking.
3) ifi hip dac 3 - with these , the advar sound pretty neutral with some emphasis on bass. The hip dac x bass gives these iem beautiful oomph without muddiness. Sound again becomes very musical , not analytical.
4) without any amp/ dac - extremely sensitives iems. So you cannot increase beyond vol no 10 in windows / mobile. It becomes very harsh and loud .
These iems are meant to be heard on an amp/dac , with 4.4 mm balanced cable ( provided free with the purchase) . Depending on the source the iem adapts perfectly and gives you what you want to hear. It sounds beautiful with all genres ( havnt tried metal music) .
To conclude , superb sounding , wide soundstage, having bass when its made to ooph , and having all the details when it is made to.
An all in all iem , flavour it with the sources you have to hear them the way you want !!!
