Why it Sounds Amazing

⚙️ DAC Chip

We like to say the DAC chip is the heart of any audio device it’s the part that actually transforms digital files into music you can hear 🎧. Think of it like a chef decoding a recipe to create a delicious meal. The better the DAC chip, the more faithfully it translates your music. And in my experience, a great DAC can completely change how your headphones sound.

Now, here’s what’s actually happening: a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) takes digital signals (your MP3s, FLACs, or streams) and converts them into an analog waveform your ears can enjoy. Different DAC chips like those from ESS, AKM, or Cirrus Logic offer their own sound signatures, levels of clarity, and noise performance. A good DAC ensures accurate timing, minimal distortion, and exceptional resolution.

When you see '⚙️ DAC Chip' products, expect: clean, detailed audio and better synergy with high quality headphones perfect for anyone upgrading from average sound to audiophile quality.

🚀 Power Output

We like to think of power output in audio gear like engine horsepower, it determines how much muscle your setup really has 💪. Whether you’re trying to drive a pair of power hungry planar headphones or just want headroom for dynamic peaks, power output is the spec you want to check first.

Technically, it refers to the amount of electrical power (measured in mW or Watts) an amp or DAC/Amp combo can deliver to your headphones. More power means better control, improved dynamics, and the ability to handle demanding gear without distortion. But more isn’t always better, too much power with sensitive IEMs can introduce hiss or harshness.

When you see '🚀 Power Output' products, expect: strong driving capability, better dynamics, and optimal performance with headphones that need serious juice to shine.

⚖️ Balanced Output

We often say balanced output is like using both hands to carry something heavy it distributes power evenly and keeps things stable. In audio gear, balanced output helps reduce unwanted noise and interference, especially over longer cables. Think of it as a cleaner, more efficient way to transmit your music, ideal for anyone using high end DACs, amps, or studio grade headphones 🎧. You’ll typically find it on gear with XLR or 4.4mm connectors, and it's a must have if you’re chasing that ultra clean signal path.

Here’s what’s actually happening: a balanced output uses two separate signals, one inverted, so when interference is picked up along the cable, it gets cancelled out when the signals are recombined. The result? Cleaner audio, better dynamic range, and more power output especially when paired with balanced headphones. The trade off? You’ll need gear that supports balanced connections on both ends to really enjoy the benefits.

When you see '⚖️ Balanced Output' products, expect: ultra low noise, more headroom, and better synergy with high impedance headphones or sensitive IEMs ideal for serious listening setups.

🔬 Decodes Upto

When We see "Decodes up to" listed in product specs, We think of it like a music translator that speaks more languages than you’ll ever need. It tells you how far a DAC or audio device can go in handling hi res formats think PCM, DSD, or MQA and at what resolution. 🧠🎶

Technically, this refers to the maximum bit depth and sample rate a DAC can process like 32 bit/768kHz PCM or DSD512. The higher these numbers, the more detailed and lifelike the audio can potentially sound. But remember, real world improvements depend on the recording quality and your headphones, not just specs alone.

  • DAC Chip

  • Power Output

  • Balanced Output

Great DAC!!

Been using the Galaxy Sonata for a few days now and it’s honestly impressive for a portable DAC. The sound is very clean and detailed with good separation, and it easily drives my IEMs with plenty of power. The build quality feels premium and the small display is a nice touch for checking volume and sample rate. Overall a great DAC if you want powerful output and clear sound in a compact device.

JCALLY Headphone DAC – Listening Review

I recently spent some time listening to the **JCALLY headphone DAC** with my **Sony MDR-X10 Simon Cowell X Edition**, and the difference was surprisingly noticeable.

### My Settings

* **EQ:** Reference
* **Gain:** High
* **Volume:** 100
* **Microphone:** Close
* **Headphones:** Sony MDR-X10 Simon Cowell X Edition
* **Source:** iPhone 16 Pro Max -> iTunes -> Lossless

### Listening Impressions

The first thing I noticed was the **bass**. It became noticeably **tighter and better controlled**. Instead of simply sounding heavier, the bass seemed more defined, with individual notes easier to follow.

The **soundstage also seemed to open up**. The presentation felt wider and more spacious, giving instruments and vocals a better sense of separation. It made the music feel less congested, particularly on tracks with a lot happening at the same time.

One of the most interesting improvements was the amount of **detail I could pick up**. I started noticing **background voices, percussion instruments, and smaller musical elements that I hadn't really heard before**. It wasn't just about making the music louder — there seemed to be more information coming through.

The biggest improvement for me, however, was with **vocals**. They became **crisper, clearer and more forward**, making singers feel more present in the mix. Vocal-focused tracks were particularly enjoyable because I could follow the singer's voice much more easily.

### Overall

With the JCALLY DAC, my Sony MDR-X10 sounded **tighter, wider and more detailed**. The improvements weren't limited to bass or volume; what stood out most was the increased clarity and separation, especially with vocals and percussion.

For my setup, the JCALLY DAC made the listening experience more engaging and allowed me to discover details in familiar tracks that I hadn't noticed previously.

**My overall impression: a very noticeable improvement in clarity, soundstage, bass control and vocal presence.**

We are so happy these helped you hear your music in a whole new way.

Jcally Galaxy Sonata.

Great build quality. The built in EQ works well and is clearly audible(100% not a gimmick).Can get warm with prolonged use,which is normal, but they cool down pretty rapidly too. Pairing these with the Final Audio A5000 as suggested by a HPZ guru, it does exactly what he said it would and adds a bit of texture to the mids which was the only thing missing from these IEMs. This is my first ever IEM and DAC purchase and it is a decent start.

We are so happy these helped you hear your music in a whole new way.

Its a new world of Listening to me

The first thing the Galaxy Sonata does with the Hexa is wake up its technical side. The Hexa is already known for its clean, neutral-bright tuning with strong instrument separation and controlled treble. But on weaker dongles or direct phone output, it can sound slightly flat or emotionally restrained. The Sonata changes that.

Using the 4.4mm balanced output gives the Hexa more headroom, better channel separation and a noticeably blacker background. Vocals sit cleaner in the mix, micro-details become easier to pick apart, and imaging feels more stable. Acoustic tracks, jazz recordings and layered film scores especially benefit from this pairing.

What impressed me most is the sense of space. The Hexa is not naturally a huge-sounding IEM, but the Galaxy Sonata stretches the stage wider without making it artificial. Instruments gain more breathing room, and the balanced connection adds a more holographic feel to stereo placement.

Bass performance also improves — not in quantity, but in texture and control. The Hexa’s sub-bass becomes tighter and faster, while kick drums gain better definition. If someone expects huge bass slam, this setup still won’t satisfy bassheads, because the Hexa itself remains a reference-leaning IEM. But for listeners who enjoy accuracy and layering, this combo sounds refined and highly resolving.

Technically, the Galaxy Sonata has enough power for the Hexa and then some. Its balanced output reaches up to 560mW at 32Ω, with dual CS43198 DAC chips and strong channel separation figures. The Hexa is not hard to drive, but reviewers consistently note that it scales nicely with cleaner and more powerful sources, especially through balanced output.

The tonal synergy is also excellent. The CS43198 implementation in the Sonata sounds smooth and slightly musical rather than harsh or clinical. That matters because the Hexa can become too analytical on bright ESS-based dongles. Here, the sound stays detailed without becoming fatiguing during long listening sessions.

There are still a few weaknesses:

The Hexa can remain emotionally restrained for listeners wanting warmth or thick note weight.
Poorly recorded tracks become brutally exposed.
The Sonata can get mildly warm during long balanced sessions.
Streaming low-bitrate music defeats the purpose of this setup.

Still, for the price, this pairing punches far above expectation. It genuinely enters the territory where you stop thinking about “budget audio” and simply enjoy music
