Don't know if i received defected piece. It's not working on my Samsung Galaxy S20+ and getting hot when connecting to phone. Not working on Laptop as well. Returning it. Disappointed product by FiiO.
First of all thanks to Headphonezone for providing authentic and new product And for this DAC just a single word 'Amazing' :) .
This is my first DAC and i've experienced a big difference in sound quality. Currently i'm using BLON-BL03 and Sennheiser HD-206 (thinking about kz-zs10 pro). I'm satisfied with this DAC. I think it is completely value for money.

Very natural and open sound. It greatly improves clarity of sound. Instrumental separation is also increased. And a very small and portable form factor.
My initial thoughts were that this dac would only increase quality of sound in FLAC or high resolution sound files but I was wrong.
I usually listen on high quality on Spotify and it feels very different and clear a huge improvement , so that's a plus for me .
I mostly listen to pop , edm on Spotify and instrumental and other music on FLAC . All the instrumental music feels much more natural than before. This dac also improved quality of my previous headphones so that's another plus for me .
In short this is a very value for money purchase as this dac also support mqa if you have access to it. I bought it as my new samsung s21 FE phone unfortunately doesn't have a 3.5 mm jack and found this awesome dac which was only a little bit more costly than official samsung dongle dac , I'm happy that I made this decision.

How to connect the FiiO KA1 to computers?
1. The FiiO KA1 can be used driver-free with computers of Windows 10 and above.
2. You can also install the FiiO USB driver. It supports ASIO output of up to DSD256.

3. If it is connected through the Type-C port, just use the Type-C edition of the KA1. If it is connected to a USB-A port, just use the USB-A to Type-C adapter to complete the connection.
4. Settings of the music app: choose the FiiO KA1/FiiO K series as the audio output device->put on headphones to enjoy music. For some computers, it is required to select the KA1 as the system audio output.
(Note: Since Microsoft has stopped driver authentication of systems below Windows10, the KA1 will not support Windows10 or below computers.)
【Mac】
1. The FiiO KA1 runs driver-free on macOS.
2. When connecting to the Type-C port on the computer, just use the Type-C edition of the KA1. If it is connected to a USB-A port, just use the USB-A to Type-C adapter to complete the connection.
3. Select the FiiO KA1 as the audio output device of the computer.
Does the FiiO KA1 support in-line control and answering phone calls?
2. Since different smartphones vary in USB phone call permissions, the in-line control and phone call functions of the KA1 are temporally unavailable.
3. An incoming call will be passed out through the speaker and microphone of the mobile phone. So you can pick up the phone to answer the call without unplugging the KA1.
DSD file support
2. To play DSD files on the computer, please use the software which supports DSD files (such as the Foobar 2000) and install the corresponding plug-in with correct settings.
3. Switch tracks of different sampling rates may cause obvious impulsing sound. This is a normal phenomenon. So it is recommended to classify music files.
