Design & Comfort : Earphones are made up of metal , which makes build quality great. Cable is of decent quality & came with a Fiio carrying box, 1pair of foam eartips , bundle of silicon eartips, bundle of rubber eartips. Acceptable for the price. Really Good wearing comfort , perfect fit & comfortable for long listening sessions.
Sound : Overall a warm Pleasant Sound. Perfectly balanced around all frequencies, Great details, imaging, Wide Soundstage, Great tonal Quality, Mids sounds natural.
Lows : Bass frequencies sounds good. Perfectly controlled tight, punchy , doesn't sound bloated or resonating. Really good
Mids : Vocals Sounds Lifelike more natural. Both Male & Female vocals sounds good. Instrument details are really good. Old songs & pop songs sounds good.
Highs : Great detail smooth, controlled not peaky, warm
Burning in : This Earphones sounds good out of the box , but sounds more open & clean after 10 hours of burn in.

Excellent sound, bang for the buck. Can describe the sound as an Aria on steroids. Good weight on the low end, excellent midrange and a smooth treble. Highly recommended.

Quite surprised as very rarely has a new iem impressed me right out of the box. Sound signature is a tastefully tweaked variant of the popular Harman curve, very finely compensating for mid-bass and lower mids. Entire bass and mid spectrum is flawlessly tuned, with full sounding notes. This certainly is a mid forward tuning with emphasis on vocals, which imo are a hair exceedingly forward in positioning, giving the feeling that you are closest to the singer with instruments further away. Treble region is quite spacious, airy but controlled as well, i personally would've preferred a tiny bit of softening of edges for a more natural timbre. Overall a very balanced iem, easy to drive, exceptional resolution, good soundstage, very lively tuning with technicalities exceeding expectation and hard to find flaws.
Probable Cons: Nothing per se, tuning is quite lively, not the ideal choice for relaxed listening. Maybe not the best at imaging, still v.hard to fault.
Note: all impressions out of the box with no burn-in, driven by LG V30 (ess dac), JD7 sounds excellent even with the dac amp off. I bet that these will pair beautifully with a warm sounding dac amp. No fit issues faced, decent comfort and isolation, despite large form factor;
PS: headphonezone need to ensure that the packaging is discrete. The courier packaging has outside label revealing details like description and price which is asking for trouble.

It is tuned to come across as non-offensive and captures the safest tuning that will please the audiophile in you. FiiO has kept things simple while designing the driver architecture for the JD7. The FiiO JD7 features a 10mm dynamic driver having internal and external magnetic circuit arrangement that significantly increases magnetic flux density, allowing the driver to push more air and provide a more natural sound. The JD7's driver is housed in a dual-layer housing with a damping system on each layer to regulate unintentional vibration and resonances and reduce distortion, which leads to a quicker-sounding driver with deeper bass. Almost any source may produce excellent sound when used with the JD7. ROBUST BUILD QUALITY WITH 316L STAINLESS STEEL CONSTRUCTION
The FiiO JD7's ear units are made of 316L stainless steel. The shells have metal powder that goes through injection moulding and is sintered at 1000 degrees in a process called metal injection moulding. This results in the JD7 being comfortable to wear, making them durable and resistant to wear and tear.
FATIGUE-FREE LONG LISTENING WITH SEMI-OPEN DESIGN AND HS18 EARTIPS
The semi-open design of the JD7 has sonic benefits by allowing for a softer yet more natural sound with an expansive soundstage. On top of that, the semi-open design; balances air pressure in the JD7's housing, eliminating pressure on the eardrum and ultimately protecting your ears for fatigue-free listening. The FiiO JD7 comes bundled with loads of accessories. Included with the JD7 are three pairs of FiiO's brand-new ultra-thin HS18 ear tips. With a thickness of only 0.4mm, the HS18 ear tips are light and comfortable to wear.
