Very good but...

As I wanted to take a plunge into Audiophile world, I was in search for my first IEMs. FiiO brand was familiar to me. I wanted to buy FiiO FD1 and my choice of Black colour was not available and later I settled in buying FH1s. I decided to buy these because of its Dual driver setup (1 DD and 1 BA) compared to FD1's Single driver (1 DD) and also that it was readily available on HPZ.

Since these are my first IEMs I can't compare with anything else but my Sennheiser CX180 and Oppo Enco M31, the difference is Night and Day. I can now say what I was missing all these days.

I am using these as paired to FiiO BTR5 2021 with my OnePlus 7T phone

Coming to FH1s...
Pros:
- Very nice cable provided
- A complete set of eartips
- Great build quality
- Sound is fabulous
- Very nice soundstage
- Enough bass, clear vocals and sharp highs

Cons:
- Can get harsh and sibilant at times
- Doesn't respond to EQ well (both para and graphic)

Overall a nice experience on buying for the first time on HeadphoneZone.

Fiio FH1s - my first IEM

While I am not a fan of in ears usually, I wanted to buy an IEM that could act as a backup to over ear headphones and could be used for casual listening. Considering this is my first IEM, I didn't want to spend too much on it but still wanted something that sounds good. I came across Fiio FH1s when browsing for options and read some reviews and decided to purchase this over others since I have had good experience with Fiio products in general. Coincidentally Headphonezone just brought back Fiio to their inventory. So I decided to take the plunge and ordered this product from Headphonezone. It was a great customer experience in general and I received the product in a few days. The tracking information was not available initially and I contacted the customer support by raising a ticket and the customer happiness person responded back in a very short time, explaining the issue and provided assurance that the product is in transit and I should receive it in a day or two. And I got it the next day. So kudos to headphonezone for this prompt response and assurance and getting the product delivered soon in perfect condition as well.

Now how does Fiio FH1s sound - well they do sound good for the price I believe. They definitely sound better than the previous in ears I have used and I am happy with the purchase. It definitely works as a good sounding backup for casual listening.

Budget King Hybrid

Lot of Complaints on the IEM from everyone. I will provide the comments on how to use them properly :-
normally I don't put comments but forced owing to all the negative comments this King is taking across the board.
1. Use only foam tips :- IEM pushes lot of highs with the silicone tips. Vocals/Mids come forward comply tips. Bass/Rumble will hit your chest with the foam tips. Highs are slightly tamed.
2. Need power:- Need a balanced power of 200-250mW to shine. The BA driver used needs lot of power. You can either use a PC/Laptop or a DAC/AMP.
3. Low Gain on DAC/AMP :- My DAC/AMp HIgh gain mode makes this IEM more towards V signature and loosed the Voval and Mids needed so. Stay in the Low Gain mode.
4. Warm DAC AMP:- Only DAC/AMp which are warm in nature and this does justice to the IEM.

My First IEM Review

I feel like FiiO's FH1s paired with the BTR5 works quite well and performs like intended.
But...
Many a times my attention is caught off guard with treble, where the FH1s is unapologetically upfront. BTR5 does somewhat help in this but not 100%.

Would absolutely recommend for beginners. Great for a Hybrid IEM around 5K-6K budget.

As i haven't use them much may be max an hour but that's sufficient for me to know the inside of an earphone.The lack is in details.You hear all but you don't hear them well.lows are ok but mids fade somewhere between dull bass.without mentioning the name of the earphones i want to tell that a 4000 priced pair delivers much clear and sweet sound than this one.So for me it's a no.May be i should order moondrop Aria.But hats off to Headphonezone,it was my third purchase from them and they never get late.Because of their efforts we can now order and check different earphones and can opt the best one for us.Without them it may not be possible for us people.But a liitle request to them,they should give exchange option on every product so that a customer need not to hesitate before buying something and could purchase without thinking twice from your site

The brand-new FiiO FH1S, which is based on the highly regarded FiiO FH1, has a sound that is even better than before. Packing an enhanced dynamic driver along with a Knowles balanced armature driver, the FH1S produces intense bass, rich vocals, and incredibly clear mids and highs. The FiiO FH1S entices audiophiles and general listeners thanks to its well-calibrated sound signature.

Positioned at the front of the ear shells, the Knowles 33518 balanced armature driver stays close to your ears to eliminate high-frequency sound loss leading to better treble extension. This driver presents life-like high frequencies by delivering them through a brass sound tube that prevents undesired resonances.

The FiiO FH1S's 13.6mm dynamic driver has a bio-polymer diaphragm powered by powerful N50 magnets. This configuration plays a significant role in creating a quick yet powerful bass response. The 13.6mm, dynamic driver on its own provides high-quality deep bass, when combined with FiiO's patented Balanced Pressure Relief Technology, the true potential of the driver is unlocked. The precisely tuned Balanced Pressure Relief System equalises the air pressure in the front and back of the body, greatly enhancing the soundstage and reducing your ear's fatigue even for long listening sessions. The FiiO FH1S delivers a true holographic and airy sound so that you can experience every nuance of your music.

Celluloid, a widely popular material used in guitar picks, known for its inherent musical qualities, is employed in FH1S’s faceplate as well. After brainstorming on countless design iterations, Fiio finally settled on a unique design that complements the shape of human ears. Equipped with the custom 120-core high-purity monocrystalline copper Litz cable, the FiiO FH1S is capable of high-quality audio transmission. With each Litz wire insulated, these cables carry out a refined audio signal without getting affected by the adverse skin effect. You can benefit from these cables' smooth bass, mids, and overall sonic coherence. The gold-plated 0.78mm 2-pin connectors aid compatibility and durability.

Using the UTWS1 Bluetooth module (0.78mm 2-pin edition), you can upgrade the FH1S to a wireless IEM in no time. This module uses TWS+ technology and extends support to aptX Bluetooth audio codec allowing you to experience quality sound while enjoying wireless convenience. Regions of the frequency spectrum

SUB BASS
(20Hz - 80 Hz)

The first section of the frequency spectrum is the sub-bass. Everything below 80Hz is sub-bass, so generally, you need a subwoofer or a good pair of headphones (open-back headphones, for example) to hear this region. This region comprises instruments like the Kick Drum and the Bass Guitar. You should be able to hear Sub-Bass if you’re listening on monitors or headphones. But if you’re listening on a laptop or a phone, there’s no way you will hear that.

MID BASS
(80 Hz - 300 kHz)

After the Sub-Bass region, we get into the region known as the Bass or Mid-Bass. This region consists of everything between 80 and 300 hertz. In this area, we’ve got instruments like bass guitar and the low end of a snare. Lots of the low-end vocals as well, because male vocals are going to have the fundamental below 200Hz in most cases.

LOWER MIDRANGE
(300 Hz - 1000 kHz)

Next, if you go from 300 Hz up to 1000 kHz, this is known as the Lower Midrange, and this is a crucial region for music because this is where you get a lot of buildup with guitars, vocals, and even the top-end of the bass guitar especially. Lower Midrange is an area guilty of adding mud to a mix and clarity in this region lifts a track exponentially.

UPPER MIDRANGE
(1 kHz - 6 kHz)

Human hearing focuses inherently on this frequency range. So it’s crucial to get this range right. This region consists of the main focus of the track (e.g. vocals) and synths. Be aware that this is also where you can start to get into harshness and aggressive tones.

TREBLE
(6 kHz - 10 kHz)

After the Upper Midrange, we’ve got the Treble region between 6kHz and 8 kHz, and this is where things start to get harsh. This region is where we have brittleness from instruments like the Hi-Hats and Cymbals. This is also a crucial range for clarity and aggression, especially for female vocals.

AIR
(10 kHz - 20 kHz)

At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything above 10 kHz. This is where we have air and this is where we get a sense of shine and sparkle in our music.
