I wanted a neutral and analytical sounding earphones for my collection and this exceeded my expectations. Actual reasons to go for this earphones were: 1. I wanted FIIO IEM, 2. HI-RES certified and 3. Accurate sounding earphones. The build quality and sound quality is impressive from the get go. Since I had FIIO JD3, I had an idea of quality while buying these. After hearing many fun tuned IEMs, having an analytical sounding earphones is really relaxing and having a reference set certainly makes our listening experience more pleasurable and peaceful. Also I would like to highlight that some reviewers said it can sound based on your input device sound signature and it does transform into an IEM anyone likes!, for eg. when I plugged to ifi audio Hip dac 2 with xbass on, the FA1 delivered bass perfectly, since it generally does not have bass. It might sound Magical, but you have to try them to understand that they indeed magical sounding sets. I feel blessed to have these sets, thanks to HPZ and short description in the product page by headphone guru (for this IEM Raghav) made my purchase decision damn right.!

Rather than going into details such as mids highs and base, I would love to say this IEM feels fresh and lively. The details are pretty good. I can easily pick up on the textures in the instrument even at the far end. Decent and good sound staging I would say at this price point. The sound is not cramped hence can feel the space and I can hear for hours. The earpiece looks gorgeous. Just beautiful. The build is good. The cables are good as well... I was worried about the tangling issue like in the blon bl03 but this does not get tangled. The fit is good with the earhook.

Spotting the ED33357 single balanced armature.the FA1 is relatively bass-light, out of the box resolution and tonal balance is quite impressive. If you are new to the earphone hobby, you will immediately feel the rich details in the treble while nothing in the spectrum is overly emphasized.Using the FA1 with phones, you will notice the boost in clarity especially in the treble, the bass is quite shy and attacks comfortably not covering up the sub-bass content. This helps the bass extension sound deeper and makes the overall tuning more dynamic. The tuning is not veiled on either the treble or the lows although it is limited by a single driver’s capability. The soundstage is fairly large and there are no obvious flaws in the tuning.In particular, I like how the crispiness in the treble makes the upper vocal range and percussion instruments more pronounced, strengthening the texture and resolution of female vocals and violins.The FA1 works great with better-mastered tracks that display fuller-bodied mids, playing better mastering hi-res tracks density in the vocal part will be boosted. You may find it a bit leaned with male vocals having some mid-range frequencies dipped and to enhance the midbass impact you may try some slight equalizing.When paired with sources that have a higher gain factor the treble is quite aggressive and switching to the bass tips supplied may help balance out the tuning
