I used my Signature Acoustics Raven IEMs with BTR5 both on ldax mode with bluetooth and direct connection with phone. I can clearly see every instrument through my ears. There is more prominence of instruments with mids and highs in the audible picture. Lows are not boosted but precise, so tight. This observation is based on all flat settings on high quality lossless audio. The sound is definitely more pronounced in the c to c dac to phone connection.Overall I am impressed with the sound signature so far based onmy 15 day usage.

The core of the FiiO BTR5 2021 has been renewed with two ESS SABRE ES9219C DAC chips with better decoding performance than the previous generation, a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and lower power consumption. To further solidify the audio architecture the BTR5 2021 has utilised an XMOS XUF208 control chip. With this chip, the BTR5 2021 is capable of asynchronous audio decoding and can decode up to 384kHz sampling rate and native DSD in USB2.0 and Asynchronous USB DAC supports 384kHz sampling rate and DSD256 natively.
NOTE: DSD256 is encapsulated as 384kHz on Windows and 768kHz on OSX, so when running on Windows BTR5 supports up to DSD256 and DSD128 on OSX.

The biggest perk of integrating and updating the Qualcomm CSRS8675 into the FiiO BTR5 2021 is low-power consumption and improved audio capabilities. FiiO BTR5 2021 comes embedded with a precision FPGA clock and this is responsible for the transmission and reception of Bluetooth and USB digital audio signals as well as clock management. In the BTR5 2021, after the Bluetooth signal is processed through the FPGA, jitter is reduced and signal stability is improved, completely solving the problem of different clock rates between the different components. What are the main differences between BTR5 2021 and BTR5?
2. Added MQA support, which can unfold the MQA tracks on the mobile phone. When working with music applications supporting MQA, it can achieve 16x MQA unfolding.
3. The BTR5 2021 supports switching to the 'USB Audio Adapter mode' (USB dongle) by just one press. When a USB connection is detected the BTR5 2021, it will automatically prompt you to turn on 'USB Audio Adapter' mode, which turns off charging to the BTR5 2021 and allows you to use it as an audio dongle for your phone or other devices. Please press any button in 15s when the prompt menu jumps out. If there is no operation within 15 seconds, the charging function will stay on. (The pop-up menu can also be closed through the FiiO Control App.)
4. A short skin-friendly silicone Type-C to Type-C cable is added to the accessory list.
5. The package box is newly designed in a science fiction style, and the back panel adds an MQA logo.
6. The software filters have been reduced from 6 to 2 (since the DAC has added MQA support, we canceled the internal filter).
How to use the BTR5 2021 as a USB DAC for mobile phones?
2. The BTR5 2021 supports a switch to 'USB Audio Adapter Mode' by just one press. When a USB connection is detected the BTR5 2021, it will automatically prompt you to turn on 'USB Audio Adapter' mode. At this time, just press any button so that it will turn off the charging function and enter the 'USB Audio Adapter Mode'.

How to pair the BTR5 2021 with a smartphone via NFC? Why is the NFC function not so sensitive sometimes?
NFC is a near field communication technology. The NFC sensing area of the mobile phone and the BTR5 2021 must be closer enough to each other to be paired.
