Semiconductor is a huge investment, companies invest a lot on characterization of analog libraries, thermal characteristic and power.Not any small companies can make chips. I think these are COTS (commercial off the shelf) op-amp and Burson puts metal cap on them (subsequently putting a cap on the customer) and charge a premium.
You are better of buying from Texas Instruments / Analog Devices / Old Philips op-amp then buying these.
As far as sound. Gain has reduced quite significantly compared to JRC's, I feel its a step down compared to stock JRC chip. I will revert it back eventually
Ordered this along with a Xduoo XD-05 Basic - wanted to taste op-amp rolling without investing a whole lot so went with the cheapest XD-05 variant and the budget but widely acclaimed V5i. And boy - they're a class above the JRC chips that come with the XD-05 Basic (and I believe with the Plus and BAL variants as well). My HD 650 now sounds more spacious compared to even the Zen Can (with XBass and 3D on) - till now my best combo. HPZ - please bring more such op-amps so that we can roll to our heart's content

Great synergy with XDuoo XD05 balance dacamp.
Ety ER2XR is now full of details with bass becomes tighter and faster, mids which felt recessed now are more forward. A significant positive change in sound signature of er2xr.
Same with HD6XX, Bass is now fast without compromising on weight.
Overall a great purchase.

I orders burson V5i D for my xduoo xd05 basic. I changed the default opamp with burson and the change was really noticeable. Soundstage was wide and there was more dynamics to the sounds. It sounded more fuller and a bit warm as compared to default opamp. I paired it with campfire Audio andromeda. The synergy is very pleasant as it’s a sharp iem and the source is warm. I really like burson. Thank you headphonezone for bringing this to India as I was trying to order it from eBay but couldn’t. Thank u so much for prompt delivery. U people r the best. 😊

These two little metallic octopuses have drastically changed my xDuoo XD-05BAL sound signature in comparison to my default op amps which came with xDuoo XD-05BAL. It's very easy changing the op amps on xDuoo XD-05BAL, 15 min job.
The sound stage is wider now while layering is more vivid it gives a nicely presented holographic 3d like quality to your music.
Treble is no more rolled off, mids are presented in nice forward manner but bass has decreased a little bit in quantity but quality of bass has improved.
The only caveat of Burson V5i dual op amp is slight increase in noise on poorly recorded songs like live performances and old songs.
Rest everything about them is super awesome they have changed the way my xDuoo XD-05BAL used to sound with my Sundara.
Definitely recommend them.
