KIWI EARS PROUDLY PRESENTS THEIR ALL-NEW AND INNOVATIVE IEM - THE QUINTET

Guided by an unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional audio reproduction, the Kiwi Ears team skilfully combines technological innovations with precise tuning strategies. With a particular focus on meeting the needs of musicians and studio engineers, Kiwi Ears embarks on an uncompromising quest to create the finest professional In-Ear Monitors capable of unveiling every subtle nuance in your music and performances. In alignment with this vision, Kiwi Ears proudly introduces its latest IEM innovation - the Quintet. The Kiwi Ears Quintet leverages the capabilities of four distinct driver types, comprising a DLC dynamic driver, two balanced armature drivers, a planar magnetic driver, and a piezoelectric bone conductor, to deliver high-resolution audio experiences. This unique combination results in a balanced tonal signature that harmoniously blends the strengths of each driver type, offering impactful bass, neutral upper mids, detailed treble, and an expansive soundstage for an immersive listening journey.

FEATURING A QUAD BRID DRIVER ARRAY WITH 5 DRIVERS IN TOTAL FOR CLEAN SOUND

The Kiwi Ears Quintet employs four distinct driver types, encompassing a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) dynamic driver, two balanced armature (BA) drivers, a planar magnetic driver, and a piezoelectric (PZT) bone conductor. With five drivers in each earpiece, the Quintet delivers exceptionally high-resolution audio, rivalling the quality of professional studio monitors. A sizeable 10mm DLC driver acts as the subwoofer driver due to its outstanding responsiveness and tensile strength, resulting in powerful and impactful bass notes with rapid decay characteristics. Additionally, two Knowles balanced armature drivers ensure the Quintet reproduces natural and highly resolving mid-range frequencies, showcasing the beloved tone of balanced armature drivers widely appreciated in the industry. The innovative planar tweeter system, named MPT (Micro Planar Transducers), further enhances audio quality by delivering low-noise, high-output, and precise treble, ultimately elevating audio resolution and texture.

UTILISING A NEW PLANAR TWEETER SYSTEM ALONG WITH A PIEZOELECTRIC DRIVER

Kiwi Ears encountered a notable challenge in the realm of in-ear monitors (IEMs): achieving high-quality ultra-treble. In response, they have developed a groundbreaking ultra-treble tweeter, compactly sized at just 5mm, yet astonishingly capable of generating an output of 118dB. This innovation, known as the Kiwi Ears MPT (Micro Planar Transducers) driver, produces sustained treble frequencies from 4kHz to 40kHz. In contrast to traditional balanced armature (BA) or electrostatic (EST) drivers, the MPT driver maintains consistent sound pressure levels at 14kHz. This unique feature allows for versatile tuning of the MPT driver to work with other driver types like BA or DD. Moreover, the MPT driver offers a noticeably more natural tonal texture than EST or BA drivers, leading to superior integration within the audio mix. Additionally, the piezoelectric (PZT) driver delivers ultra-treble micro-detail and an airy quality. During research and development (R&D) testing, the PZT driver significantly enhanced the perceived audio resolution, texture, and soundstage, making its inclusion an evident choice for the Quintet.

EXPERTLY TUNED TO PRESENT A HIGHLY BALANCED SOUND ACROSS ALL FREQUENCIES

Kiwi Ears places a significant emphasis on achieving a balanced sound signature. The development of the Quintet spanned nearly a year, primarily due to the intricate engineering challenge posed by the amalgamation of various driver types. However, the outcome is a sound profile that harmoniously embodies the distinctive qualities of each driver. The sub-bass makes a robust and swift impact, featuring a 9dB shelf that transitions into level mids at 300Hz. This transition ensures a subtle warmth in the lower mids, accommodating bass guitar notes within the mix while preserving studio-monitor-like neutrality in the upper mids. This results in a natural and pristine tone devoid of muddiness or bloating. The treble exhibits a precise peak at 3kHz, aligning with the acoustic perception of the human ear's pinna. It then gently tapers off into the upper treble. Consequently, the treble is rich in detail and possesses a sparkling quality, devoid of sharp or harsh attributes. The planar and PZT drivers contribute to an extended treble range up to 40kHz, enhancing overall resolution, creating an airy ambience, and expanding the soundstage.

3D-PRINTED RESIN SHELLS WITH METAL FACEPLATE AND COMES WITH A 2-PIN CABLE

For optimal performance, Kiwi Ears employs a hybrid construction that combines a 3D-printed resin shell with a meticulously crafted metal faceplate, accommodating the five distinct driver types with precision. This well-organised cavity design contributes to exceptional audio performance. Moreover, each Quintet unit undergoes a rigorous process of manual craftsmanship, testing, and pairing. This critical procedure guarantees that both the left and right produce identical sounds, ensuring a flawless listening experience. To facilitate audio signal transmission, the Quintet features a user-friendly replaceable 2-pin connector system, allowing effortless compatibility with various 2-pin cables. Included as a standard component is a premium oxygen-free silver-plated copper cable, renowned for its lightweight construction and impeccable audio signal transmission, ensuring a noise-free and superior listening experience. This cable not only boasts lightweight properties but also excels in delivering audio signals free from any unwanted interference, significantly enhancing the overall quality of the listening experience.
